When people think of going to the spa, they think of getting pampered and having their stress massaged away. When people think of a medical facility, they think of sterile hallways and people in white coats. Combining the two Medical spas have created a warm and inviting environment, bringing together the best of both worlds. Warm colors and services that include overall beauty and wellness options bring one-stop shopping to many spa and wellness consumers. Massage2wellness offers traditional spa treatments, specialized treatment packages and non-invasive medical techniques incorporating 5 strategies: Background Information, Assessment, Observations, Palpation and Special Tests and Treatment Goals.

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, treatment goals are to release adhesions; reduce muscle spasming or contractures that are causing TOS Nerve Entrapments. Work all muscles of the shoulder, neck and upper back; scalenes, trapezius, SCM, pectoralis major and minor, subclavius, rhomboids. Combine trigger point therapy and help correct postural deviations. Ice after activity. Stretch before and after activity.
Sciatica, After being seen by your physician to determine type of sciatica if due to disc problem, psoas work may assist in relieving pressure if due to piriformis tightness: balance hip rotators and pelvis. Gluteal Nerve Entrapment
Tennis/Golfers Elbow or Lateral Epicondylitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the common extensor tendon, the tendon that begins just under the elbow on the forearm side of the arm and then branches out into the wrist extensors. Tennis Elbow is caused by repetitive actions and stress placed on the common extensor tendon. Hitting a backhand in tennis is an example of this kind of stress. Additionally, the constant stress of holding your wrists at an awkward angle while working at a computer places continuous stress on the tendon, which can lead to Tennis Elbow. Elbow Nerve Entrapments

Comprehensive Assessment (COA) is a protocol of assessing a patient’s presentation of impairments in a time efficient and comprehensive way, ensuring that the treatment you provide has an outcome that is both effective and measurable. COA skills can be applied to any form of manual therapy. This system is not based on “how” to accomplish a specific set of treatment goals, but focuses on “what” structures require change, and “where” the modality should be applied to realize the change. It is the framework and direction, that when applied to your present set of therapeutic skills, will result in planned and measurable outcomes. An impairment is a physiological change to a structure or group of structures causing dysfunction.

Orthopedic Massage - Orthopedic massage combines several massage and medical massage techniques to treat pain and soft-tissue injury. It focuses heavily on injury assessment and rehabilitation, emphasizing the importance of selecting the appropriate modality to treat the injury. Orthopedic massage is often used in conjunction with sports massage protocols.
Breast Massage for HealthTaking the mystery out of breast health and disease. Most women at some time experience symptoms like congestion and tenderness in our breasts. Many of us have breast trauma or medical procedures for cosmetic, diagnostic, or treatment purposes. Life cycle changes are associated with a variety of breast discomforts. Massage therapy is a gentle and effective way to promote breast health and help relieve breast tissue symptoms. We are all concerned about monitoring for breast tissue changes. The massage therapist is also a skilled palpator who can support the routines of medical breast monitoring. Sports Massage - Sports massage therapies are both preventative and therapeutic, and used for athletes during warm ups, training and competition to treat and/or aid in the prevention of injuries; help improve flexibility, range of motion, and performance; and aid in mental clarity.
